i have only read to page 72 so far … but it is enough for me to decide that i like the book.
i think that it is interesting and gives a good sense of how things used to be in 1664…. How children used to start jobs at a young age of 13 as did frans, as an apprentice. Then it explains the extremities of the plague and how they used to quarenteen an area of a town which is experiencing this plague.
i am finding it interesting… althought i think that the book would give the reader better knowledge of the settings and circumstances if they explained the timing better. They never bring up how long Griet has been working for her master and it will give me a better understanding to know how long it had taken for things to happen … lik her master to talk to her and when the plague struck.
well these are my first of many blogs on the opinions of this book so far.
